We’re not ALL about the food here at The Host’s Pantry – we do love a cheeky tipple too.
This Valentine’s Day, why not knock their socks off with some romance inspired cocktails? Dig out that cocktail shaker and get your Tom Cruise on!
We wanted to share with you a couple of our current favourites…these recipes are tried and tested (and have been multiple times over the years!) and we can confirm that they are truly delicious…
A Passionate Fling
How to make:
-
In a shaker add the lime wedges, sugar and half of the passion fruit middle (just use a teaspoon to scoop the seeds into the shaker)
-
Muddle till the lime juice has dissolved the sugar and add the apple juice and fill the shaker with ice
-
Cover and shake for 30 seconds
-
Strain with a small sieve into a cocktail glass, garnish with a slice of the remaining passion fruit and TADA! Present with a flourish!
East of Eden
How to make:
- Add the gin, 4 basil leaves, pepper and lime into your cocktail shaker and muddle well.

- Strain with a small fine sieve into a tall glass, filled with ice and top with ginger ale, garnish with a lime wedge!
If cocktails aren’t your thing then why not treat your love (and yourself) to a bottle of bubbles, if you’d like to try something different and move away from the more well-known brands our go-to champagne at home is ‘Deutz’. We’ve celebrated with many a bottle of over the years and we can’t recommend it enough. It’s pinot dominated, expressively fruity with notes of nut and brioche, it really is a very fine champagne!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating all things love and if you give any of our recommendations a try we’d love to here how you got on, email me at hello@hostspantry.com.
Much love,
Jess x
